This is the labour to install a back up camera, so you can see what's behind you when you reverse.

What's included

• Mounting the camera at the rear of the vehicle where it has a clear view
• Running the cable from the rear to your screen, hidden and protected from moisture
• Connecting power, video and the reverse trigger
• Testing that the image comes up when you shift into reverse

Where the time goes

Mounting the camera takes minutes. The cable is the job: from the back of the vehicle to the screen at the front, through the tailgate or trunk lid and the length of the cabin, hidden the whole way. Then the reverse trigger is wired so the camera comes on by itself.

What you need

The camera needs a screen to show on: a multimedia receiver, a rear view mirror monitor or a dash mounted screen. The camera and screen are sold separately.

Which install do I need?

Fitting a new multimedia receiver at the same time is VHU+RCAM-Install. A camera at the front is FRCAM-Install, and left and right side cameras are SIDECAM-Install. Browse back up cameras.

Bringing your own equipment?

Contact us before you book. Whether we can fit equipment you bought elsewhere depends on the product and your vehicle, so we decide case by case. We can't diagnose faults in hardware we didn't supply without a separate troubleshooting charge.

One thing worth knowing

Every vehicle is different. Depending on make, model and year, some installations need additional parts — relays, diodes, resistors, brackets or a vehicle-specific interface — which are charged separately if required. We'll always tell you before doing the work, not after.
