The system and two tags
The IGLA module and two Bluetooth tags. Nothing new goes on the dash, so there's nothing for a thief to find.
IGLA is recognized by CAA, TD and Co-operators for anti-theft discounts on high-risk vehicles. It blocks the engine through your vehicle's own CAN wiring and asks for a PIN on the factory buttons before it will start, so a stolen or cloned key is worth nothing on its own.

A certificate of installation for your insurer, and a lifetime installation warranty.
An alarm makes noise once someone is already inside. IGLA stops the engine from running at all until your PIN, tag or phone is there, so a relay box or a newly programmed key gets a thief nowhere. Doing that means connecting to your vehicle's CAN and LIN wiring, with every connection soldered, sealed and routed with the factory loom, and that's where the four hours go.
Got a high-theft surcharge letter from your insurer? Ask your broker whether an IGLA install removes it, and weigh that against the price.
Every IGLA gives the same protection. Which one you need is decided by your vehicle's wiring, not by features. We'll confirm before you book.

Shuts down the diagnostic port thieves use to program a replacement key. Worth adding alongside an IGLA; it isn't a substitute for one.

IGLA turns the buttons already in your vehicle into a keypad. Make up a code on the wheel, then try to start the engine without it.
Step 1 of 2 · Make up your code
Press 4 or more buttons on the wheel, in any order. That's your code.
Real codes can be up to 20 presses long.
In your vehicle, you can use the steering wheel, door panel or console buttons. We set your code up with you at the install.
Use whichever suits you on the day, or require two of them.
A sequence of presses on buttons already in your vehicle. Nothing new is added to the dash, so there's nothing for a thief to find.
Carry one and IGLA disarms by itself when you get in. Spare tags are available if you want one for everyone who drives it.
The IGLA app disarms over Bluetooth when you're beside the vehicle.
Optional. Require two of the three methods, so a stolen phone or tag on its own isn't enough to drive away.
Service mode lets someone else drive the vehicle without ever learning your code. Switch it back when you collect it.
Brent P. had IGLA in his 2023 Ram TRX. Thieves drilled the driver's window, opened the door and got in, then tried to program a key. IGLA wouldn't let the engine start, and they gave up and left. Hotel security cameras caught the whole thing.
When he bought his next truck, he had us install IGLA in that one too.
IGLA is the only system we install that all three recognize. Whether you get a discount or a surcharge removed, and how much, depends on your insurer, your vehicle and your policy, so confirm with your broker. Every install comes with a certificate of installation, which is what insurers ask to see.

IGLA Canada says both systems are manufactured by Author Alarm. We installed Ghost-II for years before we stopped carrying it, and we still remove Ghost units and supply replacement tags.

We're not going to tell you nothing gets touched, because that isn't true. IGLA connects to your vehicle's CAN and LIN wiring, so connections are spliced, and depending on the vehicle and how much immobilization you want, specific circuits may be cut as well. That's how the system does its job.
What matters is how it's done. Connections are soldered and sealed, wiring is routed with the factory loom, and we document what was added and where, so any dealer can see exactly what's in the car.
On the warranty itself: a manufacturer generally can't void your whole warranty over an aftermarket accessory. The usual position is that they'd need to show the accessory caused the specific failure they're declining to cover. If your vehicle is under warranty and you're at all concerned, tell us before you book and we'll walk through what we'd actually do on your car.
