Why BMW needs a specialist
Fortin, iDatastart and Compustar between them cover most of the vehicles on the road with programmable modules. BMW is the gap. The CAS immobiliser and BMW's vehicle networks don't behave like anything else, and the mainstream brands largely never solved them.
EUROSTART exists for that gap. Every system behind these pages is built for BMW specifically, which is why it costs what it does and why it works when the alternatives don't.
🔑 Every BMW solution needs a key sacrifice
This is the one thing to understand before you buy, and it applies to every EUROSTART system without exception.
One of your working keys is permanently mounted inside the vehicle, hidden, where it satisfies the immobiliser during a remote start. It stays there for the life of the installation.
BMW keys are not cheap, so if you only have two, budget for cutting a spare before you book. It sounds worse than it is — the key sits untouched and your factory security is unaffected — but it's a real cost and we'd rather you knew now than at the counter.
There is no version of this that avoids it. On BMW, that's simply the trade for having remote start at all.
How it works day to day
Start the car from your factory key fob by pressing lock three times. Nothing extra on your keyring, no second remote to carry, and no aftermarket buttons anywhere in the cabin. Most owners never think about the system again after the first week.
The limit is range. A factory fob reaches a few hundred feet at best, and that's line of sight. If you want to start the car from inside a building or across a parking lot, add smartphone control and distance stops mattering.
Your factory warranty is unaffected
These kits connect through your BMW's factory connectors rather than splicing into the harness, so the vehicle's wiring is left as BMW built it. That matters on a car still under warranty, and it matters again if you ever want the system removed cleanly before selling.
Coverage splits by generation, not by series
This is where people order the wrong part. Two systems can both list the X3 and suit completely different model years, because BMW changed the underlying electronics mid-series.
Don't shop by part number. Pick your model and year from the list above, or search your vehicle, and we'll show you the solution we'd install ourselves along with the notes that matter for your car.
If you're at all unsure, call us on 647-439-4485 with your VIN. We'd rather spend five minutes on the phone than have you order a $950 kit for the wrong car.
Installed by us, or shipped to you
We fit these at our Markham shop with a lifetime warranty on our installation work, and every kit ships pre-programmed for your specific vehicle.
If you're installing yourself, be realistic about it. This is not a beginner job — you'll be working around BMW interior trim and CAN wiring, and the key sacrifice means there's no undo. Our technicians will take your call while you're under the dash.
