Why it takes longer than a basic stereo

A multimedia receiver has more to connect than a basic stereo: usually a microphone for calls and voice control, a USB connection for CarPlay and Android Auto, and often steering wheel controls and a camera input. Each one has to be routed and hidden so the dash looks like it came that way.

Installation parts

Most vehicles need parts to fit an aftermarket stereo: a dash kit, a wiring harness, often an antenna adapter, and a steering wheel control interface if you want to keep those buttons. They're sold separately. Find the parts for your vehicle in Car Stereo Installation Parts.

Which install do I need?

Bringing your own equipment?

Contact us before you book. Whether we can fit equipment you bought elsewhere depends on the product and your vehicle, so we decide case by case. We can't diagnose faults in hardware we didn't supply without a separate troubleshooting charge.

One thing worth knowing

Every vehicle is different. Depending on make, model and year, some installations need additional parts — relays, diodes, resistors or a vehicle-specific interface — which are charged separately if required. We'll always tell you before doing the work, not after.
