The Alpine iLX-W670-M is a 6.75-inch double-DIN receiver with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built on a chassis only 2.4 inches deep.
What it does
-
Wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Plug in your phone for maps, calls, messages and music on the touchscreen.
-
iDatalink Maestro compatible. That is what the "-M" means. Add a Maestro module and you keep your steering wheel controls and factory features, and see vehicle information on screen where your vehicle supports it.
-
Ultra-shallow 2.4-inch chassis. Fits dashes with very little room behind the radio.
-
PowerStack ready. Alpine's KTA-450 4-channel or KTA-200M mono amplifier bolts straight onto the back of the radio, so you can add real power without finding somewhere to mount an amp.
-
Three pairs of 4-volt pre-outs (front, rear and subwoofer), a 13-band EQ, 6-channel time correction and crossovers for each pair.
-
Lighting Link controls the lights on Alpine PrismaLink subwoofer enclosures from the screen.
- Bluetooth hands-free calling, SiriusXM-Ready (tuner sold separately), one camera input, one USB input, one AUX input and a 3.5mm steering wheel control input.
What it doesn't do
Worth knowing before you buy:
-
CarPlay and Android Auto are wired only. If you want wireless, look at the Kenwood DMX50S or the Alpine iLX-507.
-
The screen is 800 x 480. It is clear and responsive, but it is not an HD panel.
-
Built-in power is 16 watts RMS x 4. That is fine for factory speakers. Upgraded speakers need an amplifier, which is exactly what PowerStack is for.
- No HDMI, no HD Radio and no CD.
If you only want wired CarPlay in a shallow dash and have no plans for an amplifier, the Kenwood DMX40S does that job for less. The iLX-W670-M earns its price when you want the PowerStack amplifier, the 4-volt pre-outs, or you are building a system around Alpine subwoofers.
What you need to install it
Like any aftermarket receiver, the iLX-W670-M needs parts matched to your vehicle:
- A dash kit to mount it
- A wiring harness, so nothing in the vehicle is cut
- An antenna adapter, if your vehicle needs one
- Either a steering wheel control interface, or an iDatalink Maestro module with the harness for your vehicle
Search your vehicle to see the parts it needs, or email sales@lockdownsecurity.ca and we will put the list together for you.

Frequently asked questions
Does the iLX-W670-M have wireless CarPlay?
No. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wired only, through the USB input.
Will I keep my steering wheel controls?
Yes, with either a steering wheel control interface or an iDatalink Maestro module for your vehicle. Maestro also keeps more factory features in vehicles that support it.
What is the difference between the iLX-W670 and the iLX-W670-M?
The iLX-W670-M adds the iDatalink Maestro connection. The original iLX-W670 is being discontinued.
Can I add an amplifier later?
Yes. The KTA-450 or KTA-200M PowerStack amplifier mounts directly to the back of the receiver, or the 4-volt pre-outs will run any external amplifier.
