What you actually get

Thinkware rates the BAB-95 at 27 hours in two-channel parking mode — one of the few manufacturers in this category that publishes a front-and-rear figure rather than a best-case single-channel one. Measured on the basis we use across our whole range — 1.7W for a single camera, 3.2W for front-and-rear — that works out to roughly 56 hours single-channel or 30 hours front-and-rear.

In energy-saving mode Thinkware rates it at up to 960 hours on two channels, though that mode records far less.

Why LiFePO4 matters here

Lithium iron phosphate handles the daily discharge-and-recharge cycle far better than standard lithium-ion, and it tolerates the heat of a car sitting in a summer parking lot. It's the right chemistry for a battery that gets cycled every single day.

Cold weather, honestly

The BAB-95 charges between 0°C and 45°C and discharges down to -10°C. Below freezing it pauses charging to protect its cells until it warms with the vehicle interior, and in deep cold you'll see shorter runtime than the rated figures. That's true of every lithium pack on the market; mounting location makes a real difference, and it's something we account for when we install.

Worth knowing before you buy

At 155 x 215 mm and just under 1.6 kg this is the largest and heaviest pack we stock, so it needs a proper flat mounting space. It's the natural choice if you're running a Thinkware camera and want one platform and one app. If space is tight or you're comparing purely on capacity per dollar, ask us.
