ⒺⒾⓈ 🔑 This solution requires EIS modification and a key sacrifice

Mercedes-Benz vehicles use an Electronic Ignition Switch, and this solution needs that module physically modified before the remote starter will work.

This is not a job to attempt yourself. The modification is delicate, and getting it wrong can brick the vehicle — the car will not start, and recovering from that is expensive. For that reason this work is handled by a specialist.

Add our EIS jumper installation service to your order and we'll arrange it.

A key sacrifice is also required. One of your working keys stays permanently inside the vehicle for the life of the installation, so if you only have two keys, budget for cutting a spare.

Expert Verdict (2026) - Why Buy?

This is the Mid City Engineering SKSNG222D4 remote starter for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Mercedes-Benz is one of the hardest vehicles to fit a remote starter to. The mainstream brands largely don't cover it, because the Electronic Ignition Switch and the FBS immobiliser don't behave like anything else on the road. Mid City Engineering builds solutions specifically for that gap, and this is what we fit in the shop.

Check your push button before ordering. This system fits the W222 S-Class with the removable push button, which is model years 2014 to 2017 in North America. It does not fit the non-removable push button S-Class from 2017 to 2019. If you're unsure which yours has, call us on 647-439-4485 with your VIN and we'll confirm it rather than have you order a $1,400 module for the wrong car.

Professional installation strongly recommended. This system needs an EIS jumper fitted and one of your keys permanently sacrificed. Both are covered in the notes above. We do this work in-house.
