Check it's the right one

The FCC ID is printed on the back of your old fob or inside the battery compartment. If it reads EZSDEI7616, this is your remote.

900MHz SST, not 433MHz

This fob runs on Viper's 900MHz SST platform rather than the 433MHz used by most of the range. That lower frequency travels further and penetrates buildings better, which is why the SST remotes reach the distances they do.

It also means this remote will not pair to a 433MHz system, and a 433MHz remote will not pair to yours. Check the FCC ID before ordering.

Before you buy a new fob

Try a fresh battery in your old one first. A flat battery and a dead fob behave identically, and a replacement cell costs a fraction of this. It's worth ten seconds before spending.

Note this fob takes a CR2016, not the CR2032 used by most Viper remotes. They look similar but the 2016 is half the thickness — check before you buy.

Programming

This fob needs pairing to your system before it will work. Most people manage it themselves, and if you'd rather not, bring the vehicle to our Markham shop and we'll do it.
