Why the stabilisation matters

On a bike, vibration ruins more footage than anything else. EIS smooths out the shake from a rough surface or a hard-revving engine, which is the difference between video you can use and video that's just a blur when something happens.

Worth knowing

The 16GB card is smaller than the 32GB the Viofo MT1 ships with, so budget for a bigger one if you ride long days. Both cameras are 1080p — if you want 4K at the front, that's the Vantrue F1.

Fitting

We fit motorcycle cameras at our Markham shop for $300, which covers mounting both cameras, hiding all cabling, wiring to a switched power source and setting the system up. Bikes need more care than cars — everything has to survive vibration and weather, and the wiring has to stay clear of the steering head.

Some machines need extra parts such as relays or resistors; we'll tell you before we start if yours does.
