The iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR2 is the second-generation Maestro RR radio replacement module. Install a new aftermarket stereo and keep the factory features you would otherwise lose: steering wheel audio controls, factory amplified audio, and — with a compatible radio — your vehicle's information screens right on the new touchscreen. It works with over 3,000 vehicles from 2003 and newer.
What it keeps working
With any aftermarket radio, the RR2 retains your steering wheel audio controls and, where fitted, the factory amplifier. Pair it with an iDatalink-compatible Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer or Sony receiver and it goes much further: hands-free calling, voice commands, factory media and satellite radio modules stay integrated, and the radio can display vehicle information such as performance gauges, climate settings, battery voltage and check-engine codes. Exactly which features are available depends on your vehicle and your radio.
What's new over the original Maestro RR
Setup from your phone. The RR2 is programmed over Bluetooth from an iOS or Android device, which takes a few minutes instead of a computer and cable.
More vehicles. It adds support for newer cars, including 2018-and-up Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep models with a security gateway at the OBD2 port.
Three programmable outputs. Drive relay-controlled accessories from your head unit or a steering wheel button. Each output can latch, toggle, follow a vehicle signal or run on a timed delay — for example, switching side cameras on with the turn signals for blind-spot viewing.
Radar detector port. A dedicated port connects select Escort radar detectors, including the iX Ci and MAX Ci, so alerts and settings appear on a compatible Kenwood radio instead of a separate unit on the dash.
What you'll also need
The RR2 module works together with two harnesses, each sold separately:
A vehicle-specific Maestro T-harness for your car, from the HRN-HRR series. This plugs into the factory wiring so nothing is cut.
A head unit adapter matched to your radio brand: ACC-HU-ALP1 for Alpine, ACC-HU-PIO1 for Pioneer, ACC-HU-SON1 for Sony, ACC-HU-KEN1 for Kenwood and JVC with the 22-pin connector, ACC-HU-KEN2 for the 16-pin connector, ACC-HU-KEN3 for 2024 and newer Kenwood and JVC, ACC-HU-KEN4 for 2025 and newer, ACC-HU-BOS1 for BOSS and ACC-HU-JEN1 for Jensen.

Good to know
The RR2 is designed for North American vehicles and radios only. Bluetooth programming is not currently supported when the RR2 is used with an APX radio installation kit. With a radio that isn't iDatalink-compatible, you get the core features — steering wheel controls and factory amplifier retention — but not the on-screen vehicle information.
