The Kenwood ladder: how much do you actually need to spend?

Kenwood comes in three lines. Tick what matters to you and each rung shows the cheapest model in that line that does it all. Start at the lowest rung that ticks every box, and only climb if the extras are worth it to you.

  1. eXcelon Reference

Kenwood's flagship line, built for the best sound.

HD screens, optical output on the big screens, Hi-Res Audio certified speakers, 2-year warranty.

  2. Kenwood eXcelon

More output, more tuning, longer warranty.

5-volt pre-outs for amplifiers, HD Radio on most stereos, more tuning, 2-year warranty.

  3. Kenwood

Everything you need for a clean everyday upgrade.

Wired or wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, iDatalink Maestro on most touchscreens, 1-year warranty.

Prices are our everyday prices before the KENWOOD10 coupon. Installed prices include standard labour; vehicle parts such as the dash kit and wiring are extra and depend on your vehicle.

About Kenwood

Kenwood is one of the biggest names in car audio, part of Japan's JVCKENWOOD. Its car range runs from simple Bluetooth stereos to touchscreens with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers.

The range comes in three lines. Kenwood covers everyday upgrades. eXcelon adds stronger pre-outs, more tuning and a 2-year warranty. eXcelon Reference is the flagship, with HD screens, optical outputs on the big screens and Hi-Res Audio certified speakers.

Most Kenwood touchscreens work with iDatalink Maestro, so you can keep your steering wheel buttons, factory camera and vehicle info. We match the dash kit, wiring and Maestro module to your vehicle before you arrive, and install it at our Markham shop.

Kenwood questions

Is Kenwood eXcelon a different brand?

No. eXcelon is Kenwood's premium line, and eXcelon Reference is the top of it. They're all made by Kenwood and supported by JVCKENWOOD Canada. eXcelon models carry a 2-year warranty instead of 1 year, and generally add stronger pre-outs for amplifiers, more tuning and more features.

Should I buy Kenwood or Kenwood eXcelon?

It depends on what you need. If you're replacing a factory radio and keeping the factory speakers, a regular Kenwood model often does everything you want. If you're adding amplifiers or want HD Radio and the longer warranty, eXcelon is worth it. The Kenwood ladder on this page shows the cheapest model in each line that does what you ticked, and what the step up adds.

Will a Kenwood stereo keep my steering wheel buttons and backup camera?

Most Kenwood touchscreens work with iDatalink Maestro, which keeps steering wheel buttons, the factory camera and, in many vehicles, gauges and climate info. You need the Maestro module and harness for your vehicle. Send us your year, make and model and we'll confirm the exact parts.

Do you install Kenwood stereos?

Yes. We install Kenwood at our Markham shop, and most installs are booked within a day or two. The installed price shown on each stereo includes standard labour. The dash kit, wiring and interface depend on your vehicle and are quoted before you book.

What warranty comes with Kenwood?

Kenwood products carry a 1-year Kenwood warranty, and eXcelon and eXcelon Reference products carry 2 years. We're an authorized dealer, so the warranty is honoured in Canada. When we install it, our installation is covered by our lifetime installation warranty.

Does the KENWOOD10 code work on everything?

KENWOOD10 takes 10% off Kenwood and eXcelon stereos and amplifiers. Tap the code on this page to apply it, then add the product to your cart.

Do you ship Kenwood across Canada?

Yes. Shipping is free on orders over $200 and $10 on smaller orders.

Not sure which one to choose?

Send us your year, make and model and what you want it to do. We'll recommend one option and give you the installed price, parts included.
