No. Where a harness exists we connect through your vehicle's factory connectors rather than cutting into the loom. A manufacturer can only refuse a claim if they can show the installation caused the fault, and a properly fitted remote starter doesn't give them that.
It depends how you trigger it. Your factory key fob reaches 150 to 500 feet at best, line of sight. A dedicated remote kit reaches considerably further, up to three miles on the longest-range options. A smartphone controller has no range limit at all.
Yes, by adding a smartphone controller. Range stops mattering entirely. There is an ongoing plan cost, which we set out plainly on that page rather than leaving you to find it at checkout.
Plenty of our customers do. Check the install difficulty on the solution you're looking at — a 1 or 2 is realistic if you're comfortable with vehicle wiring, a 4 or 5 we'd recommend having done. Everything ships pre-programmed for your vehicle, and our technicians will take your call while you're under the dash.
A remote starter can be removed and refitted to another vehicle, but it usually needs a different harness and bypass for the new car. Tell us both vehicles and we'll say honestly whether moving it is worth it against the cost of the parts.
