Our verdict

The strongest duster we sell, and the screen shows how much battery is left. That matters, because turbo empties it in minutes. Use speeds 1 and 2 for long jobs and turbo for short blasts. For detailing and drying the car after a wash, this is the one. For vents and keyboards only, the AD150 does it for less than half the price.

The most push of any duster we sell, by its maker's rating. It moves the crumbs, road salt and grit that smaller dusters leave behind, dries mirrors and badges after a wash, and its screen shows the speed and how much battery is left.

Cans vs cordless

Canned air runs about $10 to $12 a can in Canada. Here's how long a cordless duster takes to pay for itself at the rate you'd use cans.

The details

The KEETEC AD320 has the highest rated push of any air duster we sell. Its 250W motor moves the crumbs, road salt and grit that smaller dusters leave behind, dries mirrors and badges after a wash, and blows light snow off cameras and sensors. A small screen shows the speed and how much battery is left.

What it's good for

  • Car detailing: vents, seat rails, the console, and drying mirrors, badges and door handles after a wash
  • Light, dry snow off a backup camera, parking sensors and mirrors before you reverse
  • Workbenches, sawdust, and a garage or balcony floor
  • Keyboards, PCs and game consoles, on a low speed
  • Filling pool floats and air mattresses

Specs

  • Motor: 250W, up to 110,000 rpm, 32 mm rotor
  • Rated push: 320 g (KEETEC's figure)
  • Speeds: 3 (low, high and turbo). It blows while you hold the start button
  • Battery: 3,000 mAh at 7.4 V (about 22 Wh)
  • Runtime: up to 1.7 hours on speed 1
  • Charging: USB-C, about 1.5 hours with a 30W adapter
  • Screen: speed, battery level and rpm
  • Switches itself off after about 3 minutes unused

In the box

  • KEETEC AD320 air duster
  • 3 nozzles, including a long thin one for tight gaps
  • USB-C to USB-A charging cable
  • User manual

Good to know

  • Turbo is for short blasts. At full power it empties the battery in minutes (about 5 of non-stop blowing, by our math), so use speed 1 or 2 for long jobs.
  • It can't run while it's charging. A wall adapter isn't included; for the 1.5-hour charge, use one rated at 30W or more.
  • It moves dust; it doesn't collect it. Blow toward an open door, or vacuum up what you've loosened.
  • Light, dry snow only. Wet or packed snow and ice still need a brush and a scraper.
  • Doing long sessions? The Wolfbox MF200 takes a spare battery. Compare them all in our dust test.

Good to know before you buy

  • An air duster moves dust; it doesn't collect it. Blow toward an open door, or vacuum up what you've loosened.
  • Hold computer fans still while you blow them out. Air can spin a fan far faster than it's meant to go.
  • Top speed is for short blasts. It empties the battery many times faster than speed 1.
  • Light, dry snow only. Wet snow, packed snow and ice still need a brush and a scraper.
  • Don't run them while they're charging. Charge fully before a big job.
  • Rated push is each maker's own figure, and makers test it differently, so treat it as a guide.

Snow on your backup camera every morning?

A ClearVU kit cleans the backup camera lens from the driver's seat, so you don't have to get out and blow it clear. Kits are made for specific trucks and SUVs, and we install them.

Common questions

Which air duster should I get?

Pick by the job. For vents, keyboards and the odd crumb, the KEETEC AD150 is plenty. For crumbs, road salt and drying the car, go for more push: the KEETEC AD320 has the most. Our best seller, the Wolfbox MF100, sits in between and has the most nozzles. For long jobs like a full detail, the Wolfbox MF200 takes a spare battery. Try them side by side in the dust test above.

Is an electric air duster as good as a can of compressed air?

For most jobs, yes, and it doesn't fade. A can loses pressure and gets cold as it empties, and tipped over it can spray liquid propellant. An electric duster blows the same room-temperature air from the first blast to the last, at the speed you choose. For pinpoint work on a single circuit board, a can's thin straw still has the edge.

How long does the battery last?

It depends on the speed. On speed 1 most run for well over an hour. Top speed can empty a battery in 5 to 10 minutes of non-stop blowing. Most jobs are short bursts, so in practice a charge lasts much longer than that. This one's runtime is in the At a glance card.

Can I clear snow with it?

Light, dry snow, yes: off a backup camera, parking sensors, mirrors and lights before you reverse. It won't clear a windshield of heavy snow or move ice, so keep the brush and scraper in the car.

Is it safe for electronics and my car's interior?

Yes. It blows plain, dry air with no propellant. Start on a low speed near anything delicate, keep the nozzle a few centimetres off screens, and hold computer fans still so the air can't spin them too fast.

Can I use it to inflate things?

Yes. With the narrow nozzle it fills pool floats and air mattresses quickly. It can't top up tires, which need a compressor.

Can I use it while it's charging?

No. The makers say to charge first and use it after, and some won't run while plugged in. They charge by USB-C from a wall adapter, a computer, a power bank or a car USB port. A wall adapter isn't included, and the quickest charge times need a strong one.

Do you ship across Canada?

Yes. Shipping is free in Canada on orders over $200, and smaller orders ship for a flat $10. We also ship to the US and worldwide; US orders may be charged duties at checkout.
