Couldn't load pickup availability
This is the labour to remove a rodent nest and droppings from a vehicle's engine bay safely, before anything else goes in.
For vehicles only. We remove nests from vehicles, not from homes, garages, cottages or other buildings. For a nest in a building, call a pest control company.
What it costs and how long it takes
- Sold by time: 30 minutes for most nests, 1 hour for a large nest or more than one
- Same day — by appointment, so your vehicle goes straight onto a bay
- Done before any deterrent or tape goes on
What's included
- Soaking the nest and droppings with disinfectant first, then removing them by hand. Never swept, vacuumed or blown out with compressed air
- Checking the air filter box and cabin air intake, where nests often hide. A replacement filter is extra if one's needed
- Wiping down the area, so scent marks don't draw rodents back
Why it's a separate job
Deer mice can carry hantavirus, which spreads in the dust from dried droppings, so a nest has to be cleaned out carefully. It also has to come out before plates or tape go on: an old nest and its scent marks are what draw rodents back. Our guide explains the safe way if you'd rather do it yourself: How to stop mice chewing your car's wiring.
Which install do I need?
To keep them out afterwards, add an LDS deterrent install: Level 1 (RODENT1-Install) from above, or Level 2 (RODENT2-Install) with the liners off, at our Markham shop. To have the harnesses wrapped in capsaicin tape, add RODENTWRAP-Install. Browse rodent protection.
Booking
Add this to your order and we'll contact you after checkout to arrange a time. You don't need to call ahead. If you'd rather book first, use our booking page to request a time at our Markham shop or at your home or work in the GTA.
One thing worth knowing
If cleaning out the nest uncovers chewed wiring, we'll show you and quote the repair before doing any work. Some comprehensive insurance policies cover rodent damage, so it's worth asking your insurer.
