It’s included, so the kit replaces the antenna on your windshield. Remotes made for a different antenna won’t pair with it.
A new remote is paired to your control module, which takes a few minutes and no tools. The steps for your remote are on our Compustar remote support page, or we can pair it for you at our Markham shop.
A 2-way LED remote kit with 10,000 feet of range. The LED confirms the vehicle received your command — less information than an LCD, but enough to know it worked, and considerably cheaper.
Check the control module under your driver-side dash. This kit pairs with the CM5000, CM5200, CM6000, CM6200, CM7000, CM7200, CM900S, CM900AS, FT-CMX and FT-DC3. The older CM3000, CM4000 and CM4200 can't take current fob kits.
Not sure which you have? Send us a photo and we'll tell you.
Both remotes take AAA cells.

Only if it’s made for that antenna. The quickest check is the FCC ID on the back of your old remote: match it to the one on this page, where the antenna it pairs with is listed too.
A single remote is a spare or a replacement for one you have. A kit has its own antenna, so it’s the way to upgrade, say from 1-way to 2-way, or to replace a remote that isn’t made anymore. See the remote kits.
Try a fresh battery first: key fob batteries. If it still doesn’t work, text us the FCC ID on the back of the remote.
Yes, at our Markham shop. Adding a remote kit during a remote starter install? We do it at the same time, with our lifetime installation warranty. Book an install.
Yes. Shipping is free on orders over $200, and $10 under that.
Text us the FCC ID on your remote, or a photo of your control module’s label, and we’ll confirm the right part before you order.
