Learn how to pair this key fob.

A 2-way remote for the NUAS-8000, NUA-8000 and NUS-8000. Two-way means the fob confirmed back from the vehicle, so you knew the car had actually started.

Identifying it

FCC ID VA5J2W8000R, printed on the back of the fob or inside the battery compartment. It pairs with the ANT-2WFM and ANT-2W433-FM antenna modules.

Battery

Takes an AAA. Try a fresh one in your old fob first — a flat battery and a dead fob behave identically, and batteries cost a fraction of this.

This fob is no longer manufactured. Your options are below.

This fob is discontinued and we can't get more. Here's what works instead.

Upgrade to a new remote kit

No fob is made for this system any more. A remote kit replaces both the fob and the antenna, and pairs to the control module you already have — so it isn't a full system replacement.

Check this first

Check the control module under your driver-side dash — the part number starts with CM or FT. Any current Compustar RF kit will pair with a CM5000, CM5200, CM6000, CM7000, CM900, FT-CMX or FT-DC3. On a CM4000, CM4200DX or CM4300, the Q9 kit (the one without LTE) pairs; ask us before ordering any other kit. The CM3000, CM3200, CM3300 and CM4200 are obsolete and can't take current fob kits — those need a full system replacement. Not sure which you have? Send us a photo and we'll tell you.

This fob isn't made any more, so the only way we can supply one is if someone sends us theirs. Tell us what you have and we'll confirm the price before you ship anything. We test everything on arrival — if it transmits and the case is sound, we pay the full $60.00 CAD.
