What it works with

The FTI-CDK1 is the T-harness only. It plugs into a Compustar CM-X controller (or a CM9S, CM9L, CM7 or CM900) and needs an iDatalink BLADE-AL bypass flashed with DL-CH5 firmware. The CDK1-CMX-BLADEAL kit has all three in one box.

The details

The Firstech FTI-CDK1 is a plug-in T-harness for key start Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Mitsubishi vehicles, 2005 to 2018. It connects a Compustar remote starter to your vehicle’s own connectors, so most of the install is plugs going together instead of cut and spliced wires. Firstech lists it for 21 models.

This is the harness only, not a remote starter. It has no electronics of its own.

  • Controller: a Compustar CM-X (FT-CMX-HC), the one in our kits. It also plugs into the CM9S, CM9L, CM7 and CM900.
  • Bypass: an iDatalink BLADE-AL flashed with DL-CH5 firmware. Not included.

Starting from scratch? The CDK1 kit has the CM-X, the BLADE-AL and this harness in one box, and we flash the BLADE-AL for your vehicle before it ships. Buy the harness on its own when you already have the controller and bypass, or need to replace a harness.

Starting it

On many vehicles, three presses of lock on your factory remote start it, so a remote is optional. For more range, or a 2-way remote that confirms the start, add a Compustar remote kit that lists the CM-X. To start it from your phone, add the DRONE X2-LTE.

Is the remote starter included?

No. This is the T-harness only. It needs a Compustar controller (CM-X, CM9S, CM9L, CM7 or CM900) and an iDatalink BLADE-AL bypass. What it works with shows both, and the kit that has all three in one box.

Should I buy the kit or the harness on its own?

If you don’t have a Compustar controller yet, get the kit: the CM-X, the BLADE-AL and this harness together, with the BLADE-AL flashed for your vehicle before it ships. The harness on its own is for when you already have the controller and bypass, or need to replace a harness.

What firmware does the BLADE-AL need?

What’s a take-over harness?

An add-on for the FTI-TLP2, FTI-TLP3 and FTI-TLP4 on Toyota and Lexus push-start vehicles. It keeps the engine running when you get in and drive away after a remote start. It plugs into the T-harness, so you need both.
