Which steps to follow for your remote

Most iDatastart remotes pair through the button on the antenna, the small box on your windshield. Find your situation:

  • Push-to-start vehiclesThere is also an ignition and brake method, below, for push-to-start vehicles.
  • One remote, two vehiclesA remote can run two iDatastart-equipped vehicles. Use the second vehicle steps below.
  • Another brand's remoteIf your iDatastart module was set up for a different brand of remote, use the steps for non-iDatastart remotes below.

More answers for the Remotes

Before you start
  • The install has to be finishedThe control module's own programming, including tach programming, has to be done before any remote is paired. That's done when the system is installed.
  • The module is set for one brand of remoteThe module is set up in Weblink for the brand of remote it uses. If it was set up for a different brand, the remote won't pair, and an installer needs to change that.
  • Up to four remotesThe system holds a maximum of four remotes.
  • Don't start the engineEvery method uses the ignition ON position. Leave the engine off.
iDatastart remotes: the antenna button method

One remote for a second vehicle

  • 2. OFF within 5 secondsWithin 5 seconds, press it to OFF.
  • 3. ON again within 5 secondsWithin 5 seconds, back to ON. Don't start the engine.
  • 4. Brake three timesWithin 5 seconds, press the brake pedal three times. The parking lights flash once: the system is ready for your remotes.
  • 5. Tap LOCKTap LOCK on the remote, a quick half-second press. The parking lights flash once: the remote is accepted.
