For parking mode, yes. In most vehicles the cigarette lighter outlet switches off with the ignition, so the camera stops recording when you park. A hardwire kit connects to the fuse box, keeps the camera recording while you're parked and shuts it off before your battery gets too low to start the car. See our hardwire kits.

A hardwire kit is enough for most drivers. It runs parking mode from your car's battery and cuts off before the battery runs low, which limits how long the camera records while parked. A battery pack charges while you drive and powers parking mode on its own, so the camera records for much longer without touching your starting battery. It cuts windshield glare. A circular polarizing filter fits over the lens and removes the reflection of the dashboard on the glass, so plates and road detail stay readable in bright sun. See our CPL filters.
