This is the Voxx MBS battery backup siren.

A compact 125 dB multi-tone siren with its own internal battery. That battery is the whole point.

Cutting the battery is the standard way to silence an alarm. Pop the hood, disconnect a terminal, and an ordinary siren goes quiet. This one doesn't. It keeps sounding on its own power, which turns a thirty second job into one nobody wants to be standing over.

It's also designed to be installer friendly and small, for vehicles with very little free space in the engine compartment.
